Nigel Dalton

In the course of Nigel Dalton’s 35-year career as a Social Scientist, technologist, evangelist, inventor, startup-tragic and corporate executive, the two circles of a Venn diagram that represented ‘business’ and ‘technology’ in the 20th century have now merged to become one in the 21st century. The arrival of the web in the late 1990s greatly accelerated that trend – customers could now buy from anywhere in the world, armed with more information than your very best salesperson. Mastering technology became mandatory.

Working as a professional social scientist for global business-technology consulting firm ThoughtWorks, it is Nigel’s job to equip organisations with the tools and thinking that can accelerate them to web speed. He is currently writing a book SuperProductive, where he makes the case for starting that capability leap with better management, to promote resilience, invention and operational excellence.

Known as the ‘godfather of agile’ in Australasia, he now works extensively within the Lean Management community, which grew from Toyota’s methods of making workplaces healthy and productive.

Outside of work Nigel maintains a strong interest in the people who have not harvested the web’s benefits in the last two decades, through his work supporting charities like Orange Sky Laundry, and Australia’s Flying Robot School.

At RE/MAX Rally NZ Nigel will demystify and explain how the latest thinking in digital strategy and practice can easily be adopted all the way to the front-line of a neighbourhood real estate office team. His talk is titled ‘What can a trillion-dollar online bookstore teach a real estate agent in 2020?’

gEMMA rOWLINSON

It’s been 15 years since Gemma departed the UK, to start a new life here in NZ with her husband Anthony.  It was then her Real Estate journey began, as she took on the role as a PA to a top agent in Milford on the North Shore of Auckland.

A year on, Gemma, a very passionate netballer, secured her dream role a position with Netball New Zealand where she worked from 2006 to 2009 before moving to Auckland Netball in 2010 leaving to have her second daughter Mia, in 2014.

However, when returning to the work force from maternity leave, Gemma chose an administration role back in 'Real Estate' where she's always felt she belonged. Gemma chose to work with RE/MAX in Franklin, where she's lived for many years.

Gemma completed her real estate salespersons license soon after joining RE/MAX, to gain a greater insight into the industry and the role of the agents, she supported.

However, her studies whetted her appetite for real estate sales and continued on  as a PA to RE/MAX NZ's high ranking residential agent Lisa Walden, her immediate goals were to support and build experience.

A year later, Gemma stepped into sales and has been a Licensed salesperson for almost a year, successfully selling property in her home town Pokeno and surrounding areas.

"Pokeno has a wonderful community spirit, and it's really great to be out there meeting our local residents and their families".

Gemma is extremely passionate and 100% dedicated to her work. She is available to chat anytime about  your real estate needs.

MORRIS SHORT

Morris has worked in both commercial and residential real estate, on and off since the mid 1980's. His preference is for residential sales as they allow him more time to get to know clients, understand their needs then deliver meaningful results. Coming from years of hospitality trade, Morris knows what it takes to deliver great service and transactions that deliver win:win's for all parties.

Morris’ primary role at RE/MAX Xtra is to train, develop, mentor and recruit outstanding real estate agents, though he does still find time to list and sell properties all over NSW, as recent sales in Port Stephens and Lithgow would attest.

Morris helped establish what was then the Australian Yachting Federation's training scheme in 1980 and was one of the first inductees into an Australian "train the trainer" course. Ancient history aside, Morris thrives in training people in RE/MAX's Momentum systems, mentoring them to become intentional and protective in their day to day business and providing the key accountabilities to help them grow their businesses.

Morris and his wife Melissa both believe that by coaching and assisting people to become better on a daily basis, allows everyone involved to grow their business exponentially, after all at RE/MAX Xtra is all about “Our People. Our Passion”.
